Aviation Students Earn Dreams Take Flight Scholarships
For the second year, two Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center (CPC) students were the recipients of the $5,000 Dreams Take Flight Scholarship courtesy of MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU).
This year’s scholarship winners are Christian Simmons, a senior at St John’s High School and Danica Bancroft, a senior at DeWitt High School. Both students are enrolled in the CPC Aviation Careers Institute (ACI), which offers high school juniors and seniors from Eaton, Ingham and Clinton counties the unique opportunity to explore careers in aviation. Students engage in classroom instruction, flight simulator training, and learn the basics of flight, plane management and ground school. The program is housed at the Capital Region International Airport giving students a front row seat to the aviation industry.
Dreams Take Flight scholarships are designed to make flight time more accessible and affordable for area high school juniors and seniors pursuing careers in aviation. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship to offset the costs of flight lessons, helping them take the next step toward earning their pilot’s license.
