Sign Up for Summer SUN Bucks- Summer EBT

This summer, Michigan families can get extra help buying groceries through the SUN Bucks program. Each eligible school-aged child will receive $120 to spend on food during the summer months. Your child may be eligible if they are between 6 and 18 years old and receive SNAP (food benefits), TANF (cash assistance), or Medicaid with income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.

How to Get SUN Bucks:

  • Automatic Enrollment: If your child meets the above criteria, you do not need to apply. Benefits will be loaded onto your existing Bridge Card or a new EBT card sent to your address.
  • Apply: If your child is not automatically enrolled, you can apply online through MI Bridges.

SUN Bucks can be used at any store or farmers market that accepts EBT, including online retailers like Amazon, Costco and Thrive Market.

Apply by April 15, 2025, to receive benefits starting in May. Applications are open until August 31, 2025, for additional participants. Benefits must be used within 122 days of issuance to avoid losing them.
